Audiences joined award winning creator and writer (and Square Chapel patron) Sally Wainwright (Gentleman Jack, Happy Valley, To Walk Invisible) and Nicola Walker (The Split, River), who stars as Gillian, for an exclusive Yorkshire premiere of episode one of the brand new series of Last Tango in Halifax.

Ahead of the much-loved drama’s return to BBC One, the BBC were giving Yorkshire audiences a sneak peek of the first episode before anyone else at the Square Chapel in Halifax.

Filmed on location in and around West Yorkshire, the BAFTA award winning drama continues the story of former childhood sweethearts Celia and Alan (Derek Jacobi and Anne Reid), who rekindle their romance after being reunited later in life.

Following the screening there was an exclusive Q&A with Sally and Nicola.

Tickets were allocated via random draw with 60% of the tickets going to Halifax postcodes*, 30% of tickets going to West Yorkshire postcodes** and 10% going to the rest of the UK.
