Alim Beisembayev also took home the medici.tv Audience Prize and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society Prize for contemporary performance, with The Guardian praising him as a “worthy winner” with a “real musical personality”.

Alim begins the 2021/22 season by performing with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic (under Case Scaglione) and the BBC Symphony Orchestra (Clemens Schuldt); recitals at the Wigmore Hall, Southbank Centre, St George’s Bristol and Bath Mozart fest will follow, in addition to a tour of Europe, in association with the Steinway Prizewinner Concerts Network, and Korea, with the World Culture Network.

His debut release with Warner Classics was released in September 2021 — an EP featuring Scarlatti, Ligeti and Ravel.Born in Kazakhstan in 1998, Alim has already performed with the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia “Evgeny Svetlanov”, Moscow State Symphony and Fort-Worth Symphony, and at Royal Festival Hall and Wigmore Hall.

During his time at the Purcell School he won several awards, including First Prize at the Junior Cliburn International Competition. Alim was taught by Tessa Nicholson at school and continued his studies with her at the Royal Academy of Music. He is currently completing his master’s degree at the Royal College of Music with Professor Vanessa Latarche. He is generously supported by numerous scholarships such as the ABRSM, the Countess of Munster, Hattori Foundation, the Drake Calleja Fund trusts, and belongs to the Talent Unlimited charity scheme.

Unreserved Seating – Seats are unreserved and you will need to choose your seat as you enter the venue. If you wish to sit together with people you have arrived with, we recommend arriving at doors open time to choose consecutive seats although we do not guarantee this is possible. Ushers may also ask you to move or condense your group to free up seating for other audience members to be seated.

  • You can access this space from our main entrance at the front of the building, the doors to this space are on the same level.
  • This is a seated and standing space, depending on the performance.
  • There are two access seats in our Red Brick space.
  • For standing events, you can request an access seat at the point of booking.
  • To access the toilets you need to use the lift from the foyer to the ground floor where you will find our access toilet, baby changing facility and a Changing Places facility.
  • We have two parking spaces at the front of our building (just outside the Southgate entrance of The Piece Hall) and two spaces down the side of our building just off Square Road. These spaces are available for Square Chapel customers and you must book spaces in advance of your visit, and display a blue badge.
  • Booking the access parking spaces means you will enter the building from our stage door area and will need to use the lift to take you to the foyer, kitchen, bar and Red Brick space.
