Friday Night Live @ Square Chapel is a platform for emerging and local musicians to showcase their talents and a chance for audiences to see them in our intimate Copper Auditorium before they blow up and hit the big time.

This month’s line-up:

Matt McClenan – Finding his feet on the Manchester music scene, Matt provides a unique and nostalgic sound which blends genres of alt-rock and folk. With an emphasis on emotive lyrics and sing-along melodies, Matt’s band Kaleiders released their self-produced debut album at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and released a subsequent EP Motorway Saints the following year. If you are a fan of Frank Turner, The Gaslight Anthem or The Menzingers, then this is not a set that you will want to miss.

Ellie Telford Band – Ellie Telford writes poetic yet relatable lyrics. Based in Halifax, West Yorkshire, Ellie fuses her distinctive vocals with intricate guitar parts and rhythmic percussion to create a melodic soft rock vibe. Telford’s band are travelling from Liverpool to accompany her at Square Chapel. Influenced by the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Laura Marling, and Paolo Nutini, Ellie promises an energetic show.

Casino Havana – Writing punchy drums, heavy riffs, and poetic ‘tell it how it is’ lyrics, this up-and-coming five-piece band from West Yorkshire has gained a quick following from their energetic live shows, international fan base, and their work with Abbey Road Studios.
