Live at Square Chapel is an exciting, brand-new monthly comedy club for Square Chapel Arts Centre and features the hottest comedy talent on the scene today, including some well-known faces as well as stars of the future!

Each show will host a range of comedy styles from professional comics regularly playing clubs across the UK, some of whom are familiar faces on TV.


Isabelle is a British Lebanese actor, comedian, and writer, who really loves pretending to like high brow conversation, playing Heads Up, and talking about herself in the third person. She has gigged across the UK and internationally.

Open: Yuriko Kotani

Yuriko Kotani is a UK-based Japanese comedian and the BBC Radio New Comedy Award winner.

Yuriko began performing stand-up in 2014. She was named as “One To Watch” by Time Out in 2015. She went on to become first runner up in So You Think You’re Funny 2015?, won Brighton Comedy Festival Squawker Award 2015, 3rd place in Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year 2015, and was nominated for Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year in 2016.

On the radio, Yuriko has been interviewed on The Comedy Club on BBC Radio 4 Extra. In 2016, Yuriko, appeared on series 2 of Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central. In March 2017, Yuriko made her TV acting debut in BBC Three (online) Pls Like.

Cheeky, affable and able to smash an atmosphere into any room, Liam took out the Amused Moose Award for Outstanding Show at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe with his critically his show ‘Homecoming’.

Over the last decade, Liam has gigged around the world including: Australia, Canada, Japan and as well as Iceland! He is also the current Scottish Comedy Award holder for Best MC – with his impressively slick and fast paced banter.
A previous finalist in Scottish and English Comedian of the Year along with multiple Scottish Comedy Award nominations, Liam has been labelled as one of the most exciting new comedy voices on the UK circuit.

  • You can access this space from our main entrance at the front of the building, the doors to this space are on the same level.
  • This is a seated and standing space, depending on the performance.
  • There are two access seats in our Red Brick space.
  • For standing events, you can request an access seat at the point of booking.
  • To access the toilets you need to use the lift from the foyer to the ground floor where you will find our access toilet, baby changing facility and a Changing Places facility.
  • We have two parking spaces at the front of our building (just outside the Southgate entrance of The Piece Hall) and two spaces down the side of our building just off Square Road. These spaces are available for Square Chapel customers and you must book spaces in advance of your visit, and display a blue badge.
  • Booking the access parking spaces means you will enter the building from our stage door area and will need to use the lift to take you to the foyer, kitchen, bar and Red Brick space.
  • Blue badge holders can reserve a parking space by emailing details of the car reg, make, model, colour, name of the owner, and date of time of performance attending. Email
