Doors openSummer Concert – conducted by Stephen Threlfall
Narrator: Alistair Cheetham
Mendelsohn’s very popular incidental music to A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a romantic piece, full of atmospheric effects. The complex intrigues that engage the characters will be described by our narrator, with the plot’s final resolution depicted by Mendelssohn’s very famous Wedding March.
Narrator Alistair Cheetham will include quotes from Shakespeare’s play as well as linking the movements of the piece and completing the storyline.
This is perfect music for a summer’s day – and the concert will also feature Brahm’s enchanting Serenade No. 1.
