FAQ’S

  • Where can I find the latest COVID information for Square Chapel?

COVID information: Square Chapel Arts centre

Following the latest updates from the Government we have updated our policy for staff, artists and visitors.

    1. Face coverings are no longer a legal requirement, we will no longer enforce anyone to wear a mask in our venue. The wearing of face covering is now a personal choice.
    2. We no longer require staff, artists or audiences to take a lateral flow test prior to entering the building.
    3. Hand sanitizers stations will still be located around the building.
    4. Our venue will be cleaned on a daily basis.
    5. We are continuing to encourage contactless payments onsite.
    6. We will NOT be operating a controlled entry system requiring NHS COVID pass or negative lateral flow test. However, in our endeavour to keep staff, audience and performers safe we are asking everyone to be respectful and vigilant to minimise the risk to others. If you test positive and/or you are showing symptoms of COVID or are generally feeling unwell, please take the necessary actions and do not attend the venue.

We know organisations around the area and country may have different measures in place at different times, however, we are following Government guidelines and will of course implement any future legal requirements as and when they arise. We would appreciate it if we can work together with our audiences and respect one another in keeping everyone safe as well as respecting person choices.

We will not tolerate any abuse of the staff team, and will happily take action against anyone who feels It appropriate to direct aggression to our team members.

For more information contact our team – info@squarechapel.co.uk

Thank you as always for your support,

    Much love and stay safe.
    Team SQ

  • Why can’t I get through on the phone?

Due to the nature of our work, our staff aren’t always near the telephone and some are working remotely. Please try calling again or leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Please see our Contact Us page for more options.

  • How do I know which events are seated & Standing?

We have multiple venues in the same building and each has their own style and configuration depending on the event. Every event states the configuration of the venue on the event webpage.

  • What's the difference between door times & show times?

Please note that we advertise both the door times and the stage/show times. The door times are earlier than the show start time to allow you to get you checked in, wristbanded (when applicable), to buy refreshments and familiarise yourself with our spaces. Wristbands are brightly coloured and allow our staff to see at a glance whether you are accessing the correct event space for your event (we can have multiple events on at the same time). This will also save you from having to dig out your tickets if you need to use the toilet or visit the bar.

  • What's different about Square Chapel?

Square Chapel has been saved after going into administration in March 2020. As of Thursday 3rd of September 2020, Arts At The Mill CIC became official owners of this much-loved venue.

Since the closure of Square Chapel in March, the team at Arts At The Mill have formed Square Chapel CIC, a non-profit organisation and worked closely with Arts Council England and Calderdale Council to ensure a smooth transition

Arts At The Mill CIC (also a non-profit organisation) is the umbrella for The Old Courts in Wigan. It is deeply rooted in creating, producing and programming work with the community.
