There were some fascinating 18th Century people behind the development of Halifax’s iconic Piece Hall and remarkable Square Chapel, and David will relate anecdotes. Who gave the land for the Piece Hall, and why did his descendants retain an interest in it? Hear about Piece Hall builders and keepers; how a father and son were Ministers at very different churches, and how a fine brick chapel was built for less than £2,000. Where were pigs kept, and what is that little-known ancestral Royal link?
